OUR EMPLOYEES’ STORIES

“My company was acquired by QBS in 2019 and I remained MD for two years. My main concern was the continuity and growth, plus having a ‘boss’. However, QBS listened, treated the French team so fairly and made the journey enjoyable and successful. It was a pure joy. Now I’m one of the directors; I’ve worked on sustainability and am now working on M&As. It is so motivating to work for such an ambitious company, with employee wellbeing and doing the right thing for our planet at the centre of its concerns. What impresses me the most though is the expertise and quality of the people who work here – that’s what makes it rich.”

Anita, Director

“I joined QBS in 2022 and every day I learn something new and have the opportunity to grow alongside great people. They challenge me to be the best version of myself I can be. I have a great opportunity to learn and grow and build on my existing foundations. I’m keen to run with that. It is a fast-paced, ambitious and high-performing environment, and I get to work in such a great team of inspiring and genuinely good people…diverse, ambitious, friendly. It is great that QBS takes the impact that it has on the planet and society seriously. All of us who work at QBS know this but having the BCorp status demonstrates this commitment and independently verifies it.”

Adam, Project Specialist

“I started in June 2015 with a couple of small-spend reseller accounts, quickly establishing myself as someone who takes pride in what they do. By mid-2016 I was managing some of our larger resellers where I have grown the business 200-300% in most cases. I’m proud that QBS has taken serious steps to become a distinguished player in the software distribution arena, that I am responsible for generating millions of pounds in revenue and profit, and that I work in a multicultural environment with a friendly atmosphere and work hard culture. We are all passionate and accountable – being committed to excellent service, taking pride in what we do and never forgetting the basics.”

Martin, Account Director

‘‘I joined QBS in 2018 as a Marketing Assistant. Now I am a Marketing Executive. I have increased my communication skills, have learnt how to design and execute marketing campaigns, webinars and events, and develop strategic promotional plans based on the publishers’ objectives. Every day is different and that makes my job interesting. I am proud that my opinion counts and I have a group to work with, where we can help each other and share our knowledge. My most fun work memory is during our first marketing meetings, we had 5 minutes of fun and I came up with tongue twisters in French and Italian. It was really funny to see my colleagues trying to pronounce these strange sentences.’’

Enrica, Marketing Executive

‘‘I joined in March 2019 and I am a Business Development Manager. The most rewarding part of my role is opening new and incremental business avenues for the company. My best work memory is collecting The Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards on behalf of all my QBS colleagues. Good business with great people, and the fact that the company is aggressively growing whilst maintaining impressive Green credentials and ethics makes me want to stay at QBS.’’

John, Business Development Manager

“One great thing at QBS is the fact that the leadership is involved and engaged, creating a family-like workplace. The highlight of my career was when I was promoted to Purchasing manager. That is the moment I understood I needed a new set of skills to face all the challenges heading my way. The hardest part was to shift my mindset from a contributor to a leader, but I have loved this journey and my People Leadership course. Hard times stimulate growth in a way that good times don’t. No two days are exactly alike. I have always been shown trust, which helped me take appropriate risks, learn to fail, and figure out how to pick myself up, and I am supporting my team in the same manner: building trust and leading by example.”

Carmen, Purchasing Manager

“I have worked for QBS for 7 years. I very much appreciate the effort and the will of my co-workers to work more efficiently and goal-oriented every day. We have an open corporate culture in which suggestions for improvements are gladly accepted. We have fun working together and share an open-minded spirit. Diversity, culture and sustainability are not just declared goals but lived characteristics within the group. Starting as an assistant in accounting, I soon specialized in account receivables which has been my full responsibility for the past four years. It makes me proud to be able to say: I work for a BCorp (a company that is certified for sustainability)! Especially as a mother this makes me happy.”
